I like this term, “Tour Educator”. But I did not connect with the term as anything unusual until I connected with the Tour Educator himself, Yoav Biler.
Yoav, Tour, capital E, Educator, completely obliterated my prejudiced view of systematic Education. He painted a beautiful picture of his beloved Israel, but while he passionately painted he also paused, and handed us the tools to continue for ourselves, in whatever direction we chose. This is education: Allowing all complexities and possibilities to breathe and collide and thrive in a shared space of mutual respect and appreciation.
I find it difficult to articulate how grateful I am that my first experience in Israel, and on any group trip for that matter, was guided by Yoav.
